Use Revive Social with AI Assistants

Revive Social exposes sharing tools through the WordPress Abilities API. A compatible, authenticated connector such as Easy MCP AI can make these tools available to an AI assistant like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. You can then ask the assistant to review your sharing queue, check your schedules or change which posts get shared.

What the "Manage Revive Social with your AI agent" notice means

After you install or update Revive Social, your WordPress dashboard may show a notice titled Manage Revive Social with your AI agent. It suggests asking Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to find out why posts are not being shared, choose which posts get shared or review your sharing queue. A Connect with your AI agent link also appears under Revive Social on the Plugins screen.

The notice is optional. Revive Social works the same whether you connect an AI assistant or not. Only users who can install and activate plugins see it.

  • To use it, click Connect your AI agent and follow the steps below.
  • To hide it, click the close button on the notice. Revive Social does not show it to you again.
  • To turn AI agent support off completely, use the Revive Social snippet from How to Disable AI Agent Support in Themeisle Products. It hides the notice and removes the Revive Social abilities, so no AI agent can use them.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.9 or later.
  • A compatible Abilities API or MCP connector, such as Easy MCP AI, connected to your WordPress site.
  • A connected WordPress user with the permissions required for the operations you want to use. See Permissions and safe usage.

Connect your AI assistant

From the notice

  1. Click Connect your AI agent on the notice, or Connect with your AI agent on the Plugins screen.
  2. In the window that opens, click Install and activate Easy MCP. Easy MCP AI is free, by the Revive Social team.
  3. Copy Your site's MCP URL.
  4. Click Connect to Claude, Connect to ChatGPT or Add to Cursor. Each button opens your assistant with your site filled in. In ChatGPT, click Add, then Add custom MCP server, and paste the URL you copied. For another assistant, follow Connect Other MCP Clients to WordPress.

This flow switches on the Revive Social abilities in Easy MCP AI for you, except revive/publish-share. To let the assistant share posts right away, enable that ability manually as described below.

From Easy MCP AI

If Easy MCP AI is already installed:

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, open Easy MCP AI > Dashboard. In the Connect your AI client area, choose your AI client and follow the on-screen steps.
  2. Open Easy MCP AI > Tools, then select Abilities.
  3. Find the Revive Social abilities (their names start with revive/), enable the ones you want to use and click Save changes.
  4. Refresh the tools in your AI client so it can use the enabled abilities.

For more on setting up the connector, see Getting Started with Easy MCP AI.

Available abilities

AbilityWhat it does
revive/list-connected-accountsLists your connected social accounts. It can show only active accounts or only one network. Credentials are never returned.
revive/get-scheduleShows the sharing schedule of each active account, your site timezone, whether sharing is running, and the current content filter.
revive/update-scheduleChanges the sharing schedule of one active account: a recurring interval in hours, or fixed days and times.
revive/list-queueLists upcoming shares and the content each account will post. The queue is empty while sharing is stopped.
revive/update-queue-itemEdits the text or image of a queued share, or skips it.
revive/set-content-filterChanges which posts are eligible for sharing: post types, categories and tags, minimum and maximum post age, title keywords, excluded posts, and whether posts are shared more than once. Saving clears the current queue, just as it does in the dashboard.
revive/publish-shareShares one published post to one active account right away, using the instant sharing flow. Use dry_run to preview the post for that account without sharing it.

Revive Social Free and Pro

All abilities are registered in Revive Social Free, but some actions need a paid plan, the same as in the dashboard:

  • revive/update-schedule and revive/update-queue-item require a Revive Social Pro Business plan or higher.
  • With revive/set-content-filter, choosing post types and setting a maximum post age require Revive Social Pro. Without Pro, you can select up to 3 categories or tags and exclude up to 30 posts.

When an action needs a plan you don't have, the assistant receives an error that explains which upgrade is required.

Permissions and safe usage

All abilities except revive/publish-share require a connected administrator with the manage_options capability. revive/publish-share requires a user who can edit the post being shared, so editors and authors can use it for their own posts. Enabling an ability does not bypass WordPress permissions.

Ask the assistant to read your current schedule and content filter before requesting changes. Changing the content filter clears the sharing queue, so review the new settings before you confirm. Before sharing a post right away, ask for a dry_run preview and approve it in a separate request.

Example prompts

  • "Only let Revive Social share posts that are at least 30 days old, and skip anything with 'giveaway' in the title."
  • "Share posts from my Reviews category too, and leave out Press releases."
  • "What is scheduled to go out next on each of my connected accounts?"
  • "My posts stopped going out on LinkedIn. Check my accounts, schedule and queue, and tell me why."
  • "Preview how my latest post would look on Facebook, but don't share it yet."
