Fix 'Post with Image' greyed out for X (Twitter)

If the Post with Image option is greyed out (disabled) for your X (Twitter) account, the account is connected through the built-in Revive Social connection rather than your own X Developer app. In this state you will also see a note next to the option indicating that the feature is not available for accounts authorized via the built-in connection.

For X, image posts are only available when the account is authorized with your own X Developer API keys. When connected through the built-in Revive Social connection, the option is disabled and posts are shared as a standard link preview.

To enable image posts for X, reconnect the account using your own keys:

  1. Remove the current X (Twitter) account from the Revive Social dashboard.
  2. Add the X account again and select Use your own keys.
  3. Follow How to share posts to X (Twitter) using Revive Social to create your X Developer app and copy the OAuth 1.0 Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
  4. After reconnecting, return to the Post Format tab and check Post with Image.
