How to Fix Invalid Aspect Ratio When Posting to Instagram

By default the Instagram shares performed by Revive Old Posts will not go through if the aspect ratio is one that Instagram does not support. In those cases its advised to update the featured image of your post to an aspect ratio supported by Instagram so future shares can go through.

For landscape images(images with a larger width than height), the supported aspect ratios are between 1.01 and 1.91

For portrait images(images with a larger height than width), the supported aspect ratios are between 0.8 and 0.99

It's best however to simply upload an image with an aspect ratio of 1:1 which means the height is the same as the width.

To calculate the aspect ratio of an image, simply divide the width by the height; an image with 800px width and 600px height has an aspect ratio of 1.33 (800รท600 = 1.33).

ROP has the ability to automatically detect and correct those images with unsupported aspect ratios by cropping the image to a 1:1 ratio.

To turn on this feature simply go to the Instagram account's Post Format Settings and turn on the Automatically correct aspect ratio option:
